Technicien / Technicienne de maintenance en matériels informatiqu (H/F)

Role Requirements & Responsibilities :

Field Execution and Technical Delivery :
- Attend client sites on time with all required equipment, PPE, documentation, and job readiness.
- Lead complex fibre and copper cabling installations across multi-rack, multi-room, or multi-phase deployments.
- Execute structured cabling tasks including routing, termination, dressing, patching, and cross-connects in live data centre environments.
- Validate job readiness before execution including materials, access approvals, drawings, risk assessments, and site conditions.
- Provide technical input into daily task sequencing and execution planning in coordination with Supervisors.
- Resolve non-standard field issues and implement corrective actions in line with customer standards.
- Ensure all installations follow approved methodologies, design documentation, and safety requirements..

Quality, Testing, and Documentation:
- Validate cable routing, dressing, labeling, and patching accuracy during and after execution.
- Support preparation, execution, and review of fibre and copper testing activities.
- Review test outputs and highlight deviations or quality risks to Supervisors.
- Maintain accurate cable schedules, as-built documentation, and task reporting.
- Identify quality gaps and initiate corrective actions in coordination with Supervisors and Project Leads.

Team Support and Coordination :
- Provide technical guidance and support to field teams during complex tasks.
- Act as technical escalation point for on-site cabling issues.
- Communicate progress, risks, and constraints clearly to Supervisors and Project Leads.
- Represent professionally in all customer-facing site interactions.

Safety and Compliance :
- Ensure compliance with all customer health, safety, and security procedures.
- Identify and escalate safety risks or non-compliant practices immediately.
- Support safety briefings and on-site adherence to operational rules..

The role requires flexibility and adaptability to changing situations and customer requirements, so the candidate must be comfortable working under pressure and on strict timelines. The candidate must be adaptable while performing tasks, ready to change priorities and maintain professional communications with clients, colleagues and vendors.

The successful candidate will be required to possess and demonstrate the following:
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with high levels of attention to detail.
- Prior experience with the installation of structured cabling including fibre and copper.
- Strong understanding of structured cabling standards, pathways, and installation methodologies.
- Experience working in live data centre environments.
- Valid class B driving licence with a good driving record where travel is required.
- Basic experience with hand and power tools.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Email.
- Language proficiency at minimum B1 level in English.
- Proficiency in another European language would be advantageous..
The following qualifications, skills and experience would be an advantage.
- Minimum 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience in data centre cabling operations.
- Strong troubleshooting capability across fibre, copper, containment, and rack environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, patching matrices, and test documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead field execution technically without formal line management.
- Experience mentoring junior technicians.
- Ability to travel for work across customer sites.
